Columbia University, located in the New York City borough of Manhattan,
is a private institution founded in 1754. Columbia offers a wide range
of student activities. The Columbia Lions have more than 25 NCAA
Division I teams in the Ivy League, there are numerous Greek fraternity
and sorority chapters on campus, and the university has organizations
like the Urban New Yorker, which gives out free tickets to events in the
