California Institute of Technology

The California Institute of Technology, located in suburban Pasadena, Calif., is a private institution founded in 1891. CIT is highly regarded as one of the world’s leading institutions of science and engineering. CIT also has many different student activities. A unique tradition is dinner served by student waiters in the student houses. The school has several NCAA Division III teams that compete in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference at the Cal Tech Beavers. Big companies like Intel, Compaq and Hotmail were founded by CIT alumni.
